Hello County!
It’s that time of year again, when we start recruiting Freshers/Kitchen reps for next year…

We will be holding interviews from week 6 but unfortunately, we have less places available this year so the interview really counts! We’re looking for friendly and responsible, but most of all, FUN people.

So if you want to relive the freshers week atmosphere, have some fun and help next year’s freshers settle in, then drop us an email at:

Socials and events are a really big part of the County College as they offer students the chance to experience new and exciting things and make the college feel like a community. In County we aim to have at least two socials a week ranging from shopping trips to nights out, bingo, karaoke and international cultural events.

Each college in Lancaster has its own weekly quiz on a Sunday but needless to say, County’s quiz is the king of all college quizzes and packs out the bar weekly with cash prizes of up to £50!

Social events are not just run in Colleges, they are also run by the wonderful Student Union (LUSU) and include all members of the University in cross campus events such as bar crawls, treasure hunts and live music performances. The social life in Lancaster University is constantly buzzing and there is something to do every day of the week!

A social events calendar is published at the beginning of every term so that everyone is aware of whats on and when is it happening. The JCR social secretaries of County also keep everyone updated with the events through postering, notice boards and regular Facebook interactions. County College is the life and soul of the party and a close knit community where everyone feels like part of the family.
