Hello County College,

I thought I would take the opportunity to introduce myself and the 2009 JCR Exec before the Christmas festivities completely take over! As some of you may know I am Chloe really long surname president elect soon to be ex social sec. I am very excited about my new role as president for 2009 and have already began working with the new social sec’s and SCR in order to ensure we have a dam good time! The majority of the 2009 exec is ‘fresh blood’ which I hope will bring an enthusiastic burst to college! However some positions are being held by previous experienced members of the 2008 exec, ‘the oldies’.

Non-Sabb elections take place this coming Thursday 30 October. Polling station will be open in the porter’s lodge from 10.00am-6.00pm and from 6.00pm-8.00pm in the LUSU Building. For information on positions up for election and list of candidates click here.

The summer bye-elections held in week 8 of summer term gave County students the opportunity to vote for  new officers who have since taken office and are working hard to make the next term exciting for freshers and those going into their next year of study.

elections.gifToday is election day! By-elections for new JCR Officers and Non-Sabbatical Officers will be open between 10.00am and 6.00pm outside the JCR Office in the County Bar pool room. Voting can also take place between 6.00pm and 8.00pm in the LUSU building below Spar. These elections give you the opportunity to select the representatives you want to lead your college union and represent your interests on Union Council so take some time in your day to make a difference and take part in the democratic process.

Just a reminder that nominations for JCR Exec positions close Monday at 7pm. Hustings will start shortly after at 8.30pm in County Bar.Please come down and put your questions to the candidates who will be seeking to represent YOU on the JCR Exec.

Voting will be in the JCR Office on Thursday Week 8 between 10am and 6pm.

As you’ve perhaps seen on posters or below on the website, it’s that time
of year again when the JCR Exec has a minor re-shuffle. Do you what to
give up some time to help your college? Would you like to be involved in
implementing Fresher’s Week or the Winter Ball? Or perhaps you would like
to learn more about the way the Student Union is run?

As well as the JCR Exec elections, there are plenty of Non-Sabbatical
positions up for grabs on Thursday Week 8. Non-Sabb officers are similar
to JCR Exec members, although their responsibility lies across the entire
university. You are generally expected to work closely with the Sabbatical team,
JCR Exec members and other members of LUSU in order to fulfil your job
role.
